When I return to Switzerland from a trip, I’m always looking forward to eat our local bread. I guess it is a habitual thing. I’ve never found bread which I really liked outside of Switzerland, except maybe French baguette. This changed today. There is this panaderia (bakery) called Doña Luisa Xicotencatl in the 4th street just a little east of the Central Park in Antigua Guatemala. And they sell different kinds of bread, one of which is a banana bread. I’ve heard people talking about it, so I thought I had to try that as well. And hands down, it is probably the best bread I’ve ever tasted. It doesn’t look spectacular, but the taste really is. I think if you ever go to Antigua Guatemala and you don’t go and taste this banana bread, you are almost committing a crime.
